The first full week of racing at the Belmont Park Fall Championship meet is in full swing and Friday’s action features a 2-day carryover of $63,018 in the Pick 6.

The sequence begins in race 4 and the NY Hot List has several options in that event for those bettors searching for a winner. Our top pick in that race is the 8-Purely Lucky, a horse that looked like a winner last time, before oddly easing up in the stretch. If you watch the replay, Purely Lucky rallies to take the lead at the 1/16th pole, but then appears to slow down and prance or kind of show off while on the lead. The 2-year-old filly, making just her second start, kind of waits for rivals to catch up to her before deciding to race again, but can not recover. If trainer Brad Cox and jockey Javier Castellano can correct that problem this filly is likely to prevail this time.

In the 7th race, the Hot List leans toward a few long shots including 11-Giantinthemoonlite and 3-Samadi Sky. The former is coming in off two of his best-ever races and likes to run at Belmont. The likely favorite 6-Jewel Disco is another horse we like and one that is a must-use on your pick 6 tickets.

In the 9th race 2-The Two Nancy’s enters off a career best which came about when she switched to the turf. Also in that race we like 9-Cetara which ran a strong second last time despite wide journey and longer distance may help the cause. 6-New Canaan and 11-Jacqueline D are also threats in this race.

On Saturday, the early pick 4 features the Grade-III Noble Damsel as the second leg going off as race 3.  The stakes for fillies and mares 3-years-old and up features the return of Sassy Little Lila last seen trying to beat the boys in the Grade-I Fourstardave up in Saratoga.  A downpour before that race softened up the turf course which compromised the 4-year-old filly’s speed and made a near impossible task tougher. She wound up 5th out of 6 rivals that day and we can expect better in this spot as she is back with the girls.

Overall, the race is pretty wide open as the Hot List also liked 5-Off Limits as her last three races were excellent. 1-Celestine and 4-Time and Motion also must be considered contenders in this race.
